Bio

Alma L. (Peters) Dornhoff, 80, died Friday, May 22, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services were held Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Bryant officiating. Mrs. Dornhoff was born June 21, 1917, to Stephen and Hilda (Holsten) Peters in Norman. She attended Kearney Normal School 1 1/2 years and graduated from Heartwell in 1934. She taught school at Kearney County District 49 for four years. On Sept. 14, 1940, she married Leslie E. Dornhoff in Smith Center, Kan. He died in 1995. The couple farmed in the Heartwell area before moving north of Minden. They moved to Kearney in 1975. Mrs. Dornhoff moved to St. John's Center in Kearney in March 1998. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kearney and the Christian Women's Fellowship. Survivors are a son, Gary of Minden; a daughter, Judith Taylor of Minden; a sister, Mabel Boyer of Callaway; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a son, Leslie, one brother and three sisters.
