Dorothy passed away at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Minister Rick Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Corothy was born March 9, 1910 in Gerald, the oldest of 12 children to Frederick Ernst and Katherine Emma Mueller Heine. She married Edgar Glenn Nov. 28, 1926. From this marriage came five children. She worked as a seamstress for Woods Manufactring for 16 years then as an alterationist for a laundry managed by her and her husband, Fred Pate, in Temple. Dorothy was a longtime devoted member of Northside Church of Christ, both in Temple and then in Bellmead. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar Glenn, grandson, Glenn Machan, and husbands Dan Tracy and Freddie O. Pate. Survivors: daughter Audrey Kirk of China Spring, Lucille Machan of Bellmead and Linda Byrd and husband David of China Spring; son Leonard Pat and wife Pam of Temple; daughter Brenda Lynn and husband James of Burley, Idaho; brothers Arthur Heine of St. Peter's Mo., and Karl Heine of Houston; sisters Alvine Beheler of Waco, Bertha Ellis of Hewitt, Hattie Beheler of Elm Mott, Juanita Carter of Weatherford and Frances Barger of Waco; brother-in-law Charles Stephens of Waco; sister-in-law Faye Heine of China Spring; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Alvin Byrd, Larry Clark and Charles Glenn; great-grandsons: Jason and Josh Harwell and Justin Stamp. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Berkheimer and Christ McKown.
