Albin William 'Al' Dohmen 13 July 1928 - 27 January 2016 *** Albin W. Dohmen Albin William Dohmen , 87, of Monett, MO, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on July 13, 1928 in St. Bernard, NE, Al was the son of the late Anton James and Christina Mary (Niebur) Dohmen. Al owned and operated Top Hat Cleaners for many years and was an insurance Agent for Knights of Columbus. Al served his country in U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post #91 in Monett and St. Lawrence Catholic Church, where he was involved with the Knights of Columbus. On September 1, 1951, he married Marion Bernadette Malecha. To this union, he was blessed with ten children. He is survived by his wife, Marion, of the home; his children, Diana Dohmen and husband Gary Bockman, Daniel Dohmen and wife Sandra, Tom Dohmen and wife Nancy, Tony Dohmen and wife Patricia, Nick Dohmen and wife Debbie, Frank Dohmen and wife Joni Sue, Luke Dohmen and wife Donna, Albin Dohmen and wife Linda, Martin Dohmen and wife Barbie and Tina Anderson and husband Greg; thirty-seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Mike Dohmen; and four sisters, Marilyn Odenthal, Claretta Schmitz, Armella Hinderscheit and Jane Schmitz. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dennis Dohmen, Robert Dohmen and Ray Dohmen; and one sister, Rita Wiley. Funeral Mass for Albin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Father Henry Grodecki will be officiating. Interment and military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with visitation to follow from 5:30 ~ 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Lawrence Catholic School in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
