Rachel Anne (Miller) Schuler, known by most as "Anne", passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 28th at Holy Family Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. Anne was a full participant in life - never a spectator. She was a feisty little lady that never acted anywhere near her age. She was a strong, intelligent woman that stayed true to her heart and beliefs regardless of the circumstances. She would never hesitate to jump in the front line of any battle she felt was worthy. Anne never did anything second-class. If she was going to do something, she put her whole self into it, did it right, made it look effortless and looked great doing it. She took great pride in everything she did and everyone she loved. "Generous" is a word many would use to describe Anne. She was generous with her time, skills and knowledge, especially through her church's Guild, Catholic Daughters and sang in the choir. She loved volunteering her time, cooking, organizing and participating in countless functions every year. She was also generous with her heart. She truly loved her family and friends and made sure they knew it. She was genuine, had a contagious laugh and was a great role model. She made it easy to love her and impossible to forget. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling the world with her best friend, Lynn. They went on many adventures to exotic and some not-so-exotic places, always returning home with great stories and wonderful memories. Anne has now left us all behind to embark on her final journey, the one she has spent her life preparing for. She's arrived at Heaven's gate and, make no mistake, now you really need to behave because God has an assistant! Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mildred Miller, her husband, Donald Schuler, her grandson, Deric Stull. She will be greatly missed by her four daughters, four sons-in-law, brother, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren [survivors names omitted]. The memorial will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 7th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the St. Charles Food Bank or SpokAnimal Northwest Humane Society. Arrangements by Hennessey Smith Funeral Home & Crematory.--Spokesmand-Review, Aug. 5, 2012
