YOAKUM - Arno W. Pfuhl, age 96, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016. He was born on November 30, 1919 in Shiner to Richard and Mary Husemann Pfuhl. He was a farmer, a salesman and a Lutheran. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and D.A.V. Survivors: wife of 66 years, Estelle Jiral Pfuhl; daughters, Marlene Pylate (Pat) of Fredericksburg and Arnalynn (Michael) Kellner of East Bernard; granddaughter, Amanda Beuershausen (Chad) of Magnolia; grandson, Eric Schindler of Fredericksburg; great-granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Beuershausen; sister, Martha Pakebusch of Victoria; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: parents; son, Michael Pfuhl; sister, Bertha Huff; brothers, Al Pfuhl, Edwin Pfuhl and Edgar Pfuhl. Vistation from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Mielke officiating. Burial at Shiner Cemetery.
