Mary Benjamin Tidwell Fowlkes Mrs. Fowlkes, age 92, of Dickson,TN died January 13, 2016 at NHC of Dickson. She was born in Hickman County, daughter of the late Henry and Rebecca McCord Tidwell and the widow of the late William Bailey Fowlkes. Mrs. Fowlkes was a retired school teacher who began her career in 1940. and retired from the Dickson County Board of Education. She taught in Hickman County, Williamson County and Dickson County. She was a graduate of Lipscomb University where she got her degree in education and was a member of the Dickson County Retired Teachers Assoc.. Mrs. Fowlkes was a longtime, faithful member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her sons, James B. Fowlkes and Roy Steven Fowlkes both of Dickson,TN; her grandchildren, Rebecca Jane Fowlkes of Chattanooga,TN and David William Fowlkes of Knoxville,TN; several nieces and nephews.
