From The Garden City Telegram: Funeral for Ramona Rae Hamill McFarland, 55, 1505 E. Spruce, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Word of Life Church, the Rev. Bill Barnett officiating. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery. She died October 13, 1991, at Garden Valley Retirement Village. Born Ramona Rae Bentz Jan. 24, 1936, at Hollysprings, Iowa, she married Roy Hamill in 1953 at Garden City. In 1974, she married Alvin McFarland at Phoenix. Mrs. McFarland worked at Kansas Plastics, the Hilton Inn, Western Uniform and Towel, St. Catherine Hospital and in the city utility department. She had lived in various places before moving to Garden City in 1948. She was a member of the Word of Life Church and the Way Ministry, both of Garden City. Her hobbies were reading, church, and embroidery. Survivors include two sons, Chuck Hamill, Garden City, and Mike Hamill, Guymon, Okla; five daughters, Debra Groves, Guymon, Brenda Amen, Lincoln, Neb., Rhonda Penn, Rush Springs, Okla., Marsha Hamill and LeaAnn McFarland Canada, both of Garden City; two sisters, Arlene Faulconer, Marlet, Mich., and Sally Deihl, Paullup, Washl; her stepmother, Thora Bentz, Garden City; and 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, and a great grandson. In yesterday's obituary for Ramona Hamill McFarland, a surviving sister's last name was misspelled. It should have read Sally Kiehl, Puallup, Wash., and her brother's name Bruce Bentz, Hugoton, was omitted. Due to information given to The Telegram, she incorrectly was listed as a member of the Way Ministry. Her funeral was this afternoon.
