Thanks to contributor #47226369 Published in the Ord Quiz Valley County, Nebraska Newspaper Wednesday, June 25th, 2003 Page #8, Col.#1 Mae Hansen Ord Resident, 90 Mae Hansen, 90, of Ord died Mon., June 16, 2003 at the Valley county Nursing Home in Ord. Funeral services were held at 10:30 am on Fri., June 20 at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Rev. Tom Peyton officiated. Pallbearers were LeRoy Wells, Larry Weiner, Larry Kearns, Carl Osentowski, Richard Keef and Jess Worm. Honorary pallbearers were Jesslyn Weiner, Linda Kearns, Carol Keef, Peg Worm, Jean Osentowski, Rollie Hansen, Laralee Seidel and Jan Wells. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery. Mrs. Hansen was born Nov. 10, 1912 at Rockville to Joseph and Frances (Karkowski) Trompke. She lived most of her life in Valley County. Growing up she attended the Sumpter Rural School and also the Ord Grade School. On Feb. 28, 1931 she married Leonard Hansen at Loup City. The couple made their home at Ord. She worked in housekeeping at local motels and she also had done a lot of babysitting. Her husband died May 13, 1992. Mrs. Hansen enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John Blaha of Arvada, CO; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister Sylvia Drawbridge of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Donovan Hansen; four grandchildren; a brother, Dan Trompke and four sister, Agnes Nelson, Liz Kearns, Clara Wells and Tina Dlugosh.
