Bio
Lois Autrey, age 86 passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Bel Air Teravista in Round Rock, Texas with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was born in Montague County on January 12, 1929, to James R. and Minnie Lee (Willig) Mercer. She married M. D. Autrey on October 7, 1944, in Ennis, Texas. Lois retired from the Waxahachie school system after 27 years of employment. She enjoyed Senior Center activities, traveling, casino trips, dances and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a life time member of the Ferris Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by one brother, Henry Mercer of Boyce, Texas; two sons, Gary and Rhonda Autrey of Waxahachie and Larry and Phyllis of Stephenville; one daughter Judy and Lee Roy Bell of Georgetown; one daughter-in-law Brenda Autrey of Ingleside. 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and one sister-in-law Helen Autrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband M. D., son Ronnie Autrey and two brothers, Earvin Mercer and E. L. Mercer. Two sisters; Bertha Brown and Dorothy Rippey. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 pm Friday, July 17, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 a. m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
