SHINER - Edmund 'Zeke' Zissa, age 82, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016. He was born September 4, 1933 in Gonzales County to the late Vincent and Otellia Hanzelka Zissa. He was retired from Kaspar Wire Works, Shiner Volunteer Fire Dept. and devoted his life to serving his beloved Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. He was an altar server at every daily Mass and every Funeral for the last 20 years until he developed health problems. Survivors are his beloved wife of 57 years, Lucille Pilat Zissa of Shiner; and dear friends, Jeff and Connie Mraz and Hank and Betty Novak all of Shiner; a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; his 6 siblings, sisters, Cecilia Berkovsky and Janie Billimek; brothers, Benjamin, Bedrik, Bill and Henry Zissa. Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., with Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Burial at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Mraz, Jeff Darilek, Cody Mraz, Hunter Mraz, Kyle Patek and Kris Patek. Honorary Pallbearers are Hank Novak, Alvin Langhamer, Franklin Billimek, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
