According to 1900 US Census, immigrated from Bohemia 1884 Headline from Czech Language newspaper obituary printed July 11, 1917: Fellow Countryman Jan Havel Died (In first paragraph is date of death May 11) A reproduced scan of the article is difficult to parse the letters to transcribe, and age of the news article would be written in "old Czech", which has changed in inflection, spelling and meanings since 1917.
