Jimmie was born on May 25, 1932 in San Antonio to W.D. and Etta Mae Bagley. He graduated from Rusk public schools in 1949, Pre-Med from Texas A&M University in 1953, and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1957. Dr. Bagley did his internship at John Peter Smith in Ft. Worth from 1957-1958; and post graduate training at Gregg Memorial Hospital in Longview from 1958-1959. He started his private practice, Family Medicine, along with Dr. Neil Marshall, in 1959 and operated it until 1996. He was on staff at Good Shepherd Medical Center and Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, and was on staff at Good Shepherd Medical Clinic in Tatum from 1996-2001. Dr. Bagley was also involved in countless civic clubs and organizations through his career in and around the Longview area; and was a member of the Centre Presbyterian Church in Elderville. Dr. Bagley was a dedicated and beloved Physician. He cared about his patients and they could always tell. He loved fishing and hunting and was very involved with Ducks Unlimited for many years. He always enjoyed a good game of poker and loved having lunch every other week with his R.O.D.E.O. bunch (Retired Old Doctor’s Eating Out). Dr. Bagley loved Texas A&M and was an avid Aggie’s fan. He loved all his class reunions from every school and even loved family reunions. Some of his favorite trips he took were to Colorado with his dear friends, Dr. VanSickle and Dr. Rankin; and he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Gail Kalinec. (Radar Funeral Home Internet)
