GILMER - Acacia Shaw, 77, of Gilmer, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Gilmer, and was born on March 1, 1938. Graveside Services for Acacia "Kay" Shaw, 77, of Gilmer will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2015 at Sand Hill Cemetery in Upshur County with Bro. Madison Caffey officiating. Interment will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Shaw passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Gilmer. Mrs. Shaw was born March 1, 1938 in Upshur County to Hobson Dewey and Mattie Isola Howard Adams. She was a retired beauty operator and a member of the Sand Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her brother, John Adams of Alabama; sister, Betty Smith of Lubbock; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her husband Burl Shaw who passed away October 24, 2009; son, Donnie Burl Shaw; brother, Gerald Adams; sisters, Mary and Dorothy.
