Mrs. Joan Barbara Beranek, 84, of Panama City, FL, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Mrs. Beranek was born in Newton, Massachusetts, on December 17, 1930, to Mary and James Hutt. She was a graduate of Wellesley High School and The Massachusetts General School of Nursing. She later served as a nurse in The United States Air Force, reaching the rank of 1st Lt. Joan was a member of St. Dominic Church and sang in the choir since 1980. Her husband Orville J. (Mike) preceded her in death on August 6th 1990. She is survived by her sister, Mary V. Briggs, brother, Robert A. Hutt (Nancy), son Richard Beranek (Jodena); daughter Lisa Kitto (Cary); five grandchildren; Jessica, Jillian, and Alex Beranek and Katy and Michael Kitto; one great grandson Deklan; niece and nephew Susan and David Briggs; nieces Linda and Janice; honorary daughter Beth Ramsey, many good choir, church and Panama City friends as well as numerous Air Force friendships through the years. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday August 3, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Father Anthony Nguyen officiating. A reception will follow at the church. A special thank you to Covenant Hospice and Bay Medical Center/ Sacred Heart staff for their kindness and support.
