Alfred Joseph "Freddie" Meyer, 88, was taken to heaven Monday, February 15, 2010. He was born February 9, 1922 in Flatonia, TX, to Henry and Elizabeth (Gloger) Meyer. He served his country proudly in the US Army and US Air Force. He was a parishioner of St Gerard Catholic Church and a member of St Joseph Benevolent Society. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen Louise Jehl Meyer and two daughters: Julia Yochum and husband Timothy; Barbara Mills and husband Kenneth. Five grandchildren: Chad Mills and wife Gladys; Laurie Yochum, Bradley Mills and wife Kimberly; David Mills and wife Victoria; Tim Yochum and wife Lauren. Four great-grandchildren: Kaylin, Melody, Colton and Mackenzie. Services Rosary: Thursday, February 18, 2010, 7 P.M., St Gerard Catholic Church with visitation 5-7 P.M. at the church. Mass: Friday, February 19, 2010, 10 A.M. at St Gerard with burial at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Gerard Catholic Church, 1523 Iowa, San Antonio, TX 78203 or Holy Name School, 3814 Nash, San Antonio, TX 78223 would be appreciated. Daddy was one of the kindest, most gentle, mild-mannered, loving men on earth. We miss him already.
