Bernice Melton (156068437) Services for Mrs. Bernice Melton, age 93 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 3:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas with Bro. Bruce Rudd officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery. Mrs. Melton passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at a nursing home in Lindale, Texas. She was born in Denton, Texas on January 31, 1928 to the late Joseph John Robert and Maggie (Prestridge) Sprabary. Mrs. Melton was a longtime resident of Lindale, Texas and a member of the East Foothills Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed yardwork. Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Melton in 2015, son, Ricky Hatley, 8 brothers, and 3 sisters. She is survived by 4 children, Larry Hatley of Lindale, Texas; Lena Hatley of New York; Jeanie Shields and husband, Neil of Pennsylvania; Becky Hernandez and husband, Richard of Lindale, Texas; 3 step-children, Claborn Melton, Donnie Melton, and Jeannie Daniels all of Lindale, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.
