Bio

Arlyn M. Jones passed into heaven on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at 100 years old. She was born to Jennie and John Moe on Feb. 27, 1915. She began her life in a cabin home high in the Cascade Mountains as her father was on a firewatcher in the early 1900s. When she was old enough for school, the family moved to a small town called Mehama in the forest on the Santiam River. Arlyn loved and enjoyed her family, friends, the little schoolhouse on the hill, the little community church, and the summer swims in the river. After high school, she went into nurse's training and continued until 1980 when she retired. Arlyn married Joseph A. Jones on Dec. 14, 1945. He passed away in May 2009. Joe and Arlyn had three children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. Arlyn and Joe were very active in church for many years. She was very selfless, supporting Joe and the family in every endeavor. She loved everyone and always found good in all. She was an example of God's love. Herald and News, Dec 5, 2015
