Daughter of Vincenc and Anna (Linert) Ponec. She was named Bertha on her birth record. She came to the United States 1906 at the age of 53. There may be a discrepancy in her immigration papers and her age, death certificate and the date of birth shown. Death Certificate indicates date of birth as November 10, 1868. Tombstone shows year of birth as 1868. Family Search.org indicates her name was Barbara Berta and date of birth as Nov. 28, 1853
