FORT WORTH - John R. Haynes, 83, a retired engineer, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. John Haynes was born Dec. 6, 1913, in Rising Star. He came to Fort Worth in the mid-1930s and went to work for Convair, now Lockheed. He retired in 1978 after 45 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jewel Haynes, in 1968. Survivors: Daughter, Jo Ann Canton of Kensington, Calif.; brothers, Hope Haynes of Basswood, Calif. and Billy Williams of Abilene; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; niece, Mary Beth Hattaway; and several other nieces and nephews.
