The middle initial "G" has no documentation - certainly not on his grave markers. The same is true with "Sr."
Son of Sylvanus & Abigail Sherman Cottle. Husband of Relief Farnsworth. Recognized as a Revolutionary War patriot by NSDAR A026366 and NSSAR P-139334. Warren Cottle served as a represntative from Woodstock to the General Assembly. and the Windsor Militia as CAPT WARREN COTTLE'S CO OF MILITIA. Source: GOODRICH, ROLLS OF THE SOLS IN THE REV WAR 1775-1783, P 358 Cottleville, Missouri, was settled in 1798 by Captain Warren G. Cottle , a Revolutionary War veteran who secured a Spanish land grant. The town was later officially platted and named after him in 1839 by his grandson, Lorenzo Cottle.
