Bio
She was Born on Turkey Creek in Stone County Arkansas, the daughter of William Elliott & Elizabeth Jane Brown.She was the 3rd wife of John Thomas Partain. John Thomas does not have a headstone, he lies with wife Etta on one side & 2nd wife Julia Maxwell on the other side.Etta took over the raising of Julia & John's 10 children . She married John 8/30/1909 in Cleburne County Arkansas. Her nephew Charley Tankersley says a cousin teased Etta when she was dating Mart Edwards, the cousin teased her that Mart was a eunoch so Etta married a man with 10 kids (John Thomas Partain).This was much to the dismay and dislike of her mother. Her mother still kept the picture of Mart Edwards she wanted Etta to marry Mart Edwards. I in fact,still have the pic of Mart Edwards!
