Funeral service for Norma Rae Lilley, 81, of Fred will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment to follow at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Lilley went to be with the Lord November 24, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston surrounded by family. She was born June 16, 1934 in Evadale and was a lifelong resident of Fred. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. Norma Rae was a member of Community Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Eathel Gilchriest; brothers Dorman Gilchriest, and Webster Gilchriest; and sister Dorothy Clinard. Survivors include husband of 62 years Hollis Lealond Lilley of Fred; son Charles Lilley of Fred; daughters Juanita Dyson of Spurger, Aline Stephens and husband Sherman of Fred, Brenda Lilley of Fred and Veronica Deckard of Warren; brothers Arthur Gilchriest and Kenneth Gilchriest both of Fred; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
