Mr. Charles Hugo Oliver, 73, of Crossett, died Friday, November 26, 2004, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. Mr. Oliver was a native of Fountain Hill, a resident of Crossett for the past 20 years and a former resident of Dubach, LA, Reyno, and Kensett. He retired from the Mississippi River Transmission Corporation in 1986 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Marlene Doss Oliver of Crossett; a son, Danny Oliver of Hattiesburg, MS; a daughter, Vicki Edington of Reyno; four granddaughters, Amy Luttrell of Biggers, Kelly Oliver of Ashville, NC, Abbi Edington of Reyno, and Rebecca Oliver of Hattiesburg, MS; and two great-granddaughters, Brittney & Clara Luttrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Hugo and Johnnie Ford Oliver; and three brothers, J.C. and Ralph Ford and Robert Eugene Oliver. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Monday, November 29, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg with Revs. Roy Craig & Klois Hargis officiating. Burial followed services at the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Spears, Wayne Moffatt, Hershel Kelley, Roddy Lochala, Sonny Danley and Ray Burgess. Honorary pallbearers were employees and retirees of the Mississippi River Transmission Corporation. Memorials may be made to the Flat Creek Cemetery Association or to the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church, both at P. O. Box 265, Fountain Hill, AR 71642.
