The obituary of John Ezra Gilley as published in the February 20, 1975, issue of The Mountain Eagle: Gilley dies Funeral services for John Ezra Gilley, 72, were held Feb. 15 in the chapel of the Blair Funeral Home, Whitesburg. Elders Bill Craft and Harold Kincer officiated. Burial was in the Adams cemetery, Rock House, Ky. The son of the late Harrison Gilley and the late Ester Gilley, he died Feb. 12 at his residence at Dongola. Surviving are one daughter, Ilene Caudill, Crystal Springs, Fla.; one brother, Frank Gilley of Isom; three sisters, Ila Ball of Raven, Va., Bessie Gilley of Cedarbluff, Va., and Nannie Bell Young of Raven, Va.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
