Wilbur F. Richards, 89, of Scottsbluff died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at The Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff, NE. Wilbur was born July 29, 1919 in Windsor, CO to Henry and Katherine (Fabricius) Richards. He graduated from Fort Collins, Colorado High School and attended Colorado State University for one year. He attended the Aeronautical Communication Center and worked for the FAA for fifteen years and as an instructor for the FAA Aeronautical Academy in Oklahoma City, OK for fifteen years. He worked one year with the United Nations in Cairo, Egypt. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in the Field Artillery branch in 1941. He married Frances Helen Hess October 26, 1955 in Nome, Alaska. They lived five years in various “Bush” communities in Alaska, then to Egypt, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Nebraska. They enjoyed traveling and traveled to twenty foreign countries. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Scottsbluff and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Cremation, Burial unknown.
