Donald F. Rein, 74, of Gering, NE died Thursday, January 6, 2011, at his home. Don was born March 31, 1936, at Minatare, Nebraska to Fred Jr. and Anna (Becker) Rein. At the age of five, his mother, Anna passed away and he was raised by Evelyn (Stumf) Rein (# 145434943). Don grew up in Minatare and graduated from the Minatare High School. In September 1955, he married Norma J. Hauff in Scottsbluff. Later they divorced. Their children; Gregory and Rick. He was first employed at Lockwood Manufacturing before beginning his career in the trucking business. He later owned and operated Don Rein and Sons Trucking, expanding his fleet to 17, before ill health forced him to retire. He enjoyed fishing and gambling and was an avid Husker, Bronco, and Stock Car Racing fan. Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Rodney Rein (# 72598514).
