Orville Sibley Johnson was born November 25, 1925 in Conroe, Texas to Sibley Johnson and Vera Johnson, and passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Richards, Texas at the age of 89. Orville graduated from Conroe High School in 1943, joined the US Navy following graduation and served in World War II. Orville enjoyed history, motorcycles, chainsaws, football and spending time with his family. He married Louise Crivelli in 1945. He raised his family in Tomball, Texas and has spent many years in Richards, Texas. Orville worked for 30 years in pipeline and oilfield construction and retired in 1982. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise, is survived by his son Richard Johnson of Crandall, Texas and wife Mary, his daughter Linda Johnson- Crowder of Lewistown, Pennsylvania and husband William; his sister Lois Brunson of Montgomery; his grandchildren Derek Johnson and wife KaraBeth, LeighAnne Johnson-Slack and husband Spencer, Christopher Crowder, Alexander Crowder, Diane Crowder, James Crowder, John Crowder, Meredith Crowder-Stanford and husband Richard, Nicholas Crowder, Natalie Crowder, Andrew Crowder, Emily Crowder-Sanders and her husband Mason; and his 12 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1:00 in the afternoon at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation. Obit published in the Conroe Courier on 9 Nov 2015.
