Bio

Son of John Dye (1775-1839) and Sarah Beam (1789 - 1839) Brother of Nathan Dye and Alfred Dye After the 1851 death of Mary Ellen Dye in South Carolina, Jonathan brought his children and possessions to Union County, Mississippi. He then married a Mrs. ____Sharp. Mrs. Sharp had 2 daughters, Margaret E and Martha J Sharp. It is unknown when Mrs. Sharp died. Margaret was 12 and Martha was 9 years old in 1860 Pontotoc, MS County Census in Jonathan and Dorcus Dye's household. Jonathan and Dorcus were married in 1859. Jonathan didn't have any children by either Mrs. Sharp or Dorcus Jane Pannell.
