The Inyo Register Newspaper - April 20, 2002- Bishop, Inyo County, California Graveside services will be held for longtime Bishop resident A.J. "Strip" Stripling, 87, on April 22 at the East Line Street Cemetery. Officers of Winnedumah Lodge 287 and Rev. Caddy Jackson of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Born Aug. 28, 1914 in Nacogdoches, Texas; Mr. Stripling died on April 17 in Minden, Nevada. Mr. Stripling served in the US Army, 79th Engineer Construction Battalion during WWII. He was an employee of the California Department of Transportation for 28 years. Abner leaves his wife Audra; daughter Audra Jo Baumgarth of Minden, Nevada; and granddaughter Lisa Baumgarth of San Diego.
