Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 18, 1982 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Stockham Cemetery. OBITUARY: Lester H. Critel, Sr. Lester Harold Cirtel, Sr., the son of William and Sarah Wolff Critel, was born at Loup City, Nebraska, on January 23, 1916. His death occurred at his home in Stockham, Nebraska, on October 14, 1982, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 21 days. As a young man he came to York County, Nebraska. On May 7, 1939, he was united in marriage to Justina Bergen at Henderson, Nebraska. They farmed in York and Hamilton Counties for several years. He later was semi-retired and did custom bailing. His parents, two brothers, John and Elmer Critel and two sisters, Mrs. Ada DeMarce and Mrs. Sarah Norris had preceded him in death. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Justina; two daughters, Marjorie Vontz, and her husband Kale of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Danielle Sterling of Grand Island, Nebraska and two sons, Eugene Critel and his wife Lynn of Grand Island and Lester Critel, Jr. and his wife Betty of Ravenna, Nebraska; four sisters, Mrs. Tracy Johnson of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Mrs. Hazel Rains of York, Nebraska, Mrs. Opal Ellis of Petaluma, California and Mrs. Ethel Brown of Lincoln, Nebraska; two brothers, William H. Critel of Waco, Nebraska and Alvin H. Critel of York, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and other close relatives and friends. Contributor: Mrs. Crosby
