Rose Valeria Van Ert, 85, of Rock Island, died Monday, June 5, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Rite of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Prayers will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the rosary recited at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Rose was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Lindsay, Neb. She married Bernard M. Van Ert in 1941. Rose worked at Buddy L until the early 1960s. She also worked at Moline Public Hospital. After retiring from the hospital, she worked at the Moline Viking Club. Because of illness, Rose retired in 2000. She enjoyed being around people. She liked doing crafts. She loved to cook, but most of all she loved her family. She was a very outgoing and caring individual. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, to Doctors Alla, Kishore and Dahal and their staff at the Quad Cities Kidney Center as well as her primary physician, Dr. Arvanitis, for the special care given to her. She is survived by sons and spouse, Larry and Janet Van Ert, Moline, Terry Van Ert, Davenport; daughter, Shirley Cruzen, Rock Island; sisters, Alice Stratman, Nevada, LaVerne Jennings, California; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Engelbert Hoegerl, three brothers and four sisters.
