"Stan S. Parkhurst, 92 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his home in Fremont. Stan grew up and graduated from high school in Sedalia, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Air Force from December 8, 1942 to January 30, 1946. After the service, he worked for Stanley Home Products for 15 years. He then purchased a dry-cleaning business and built a carwash in Wahoo, NE. In 1973, he started working for Cord Enterprises until his retirement. He married Fanchon "Suzie" Steffen on February 14, 1974 in Lincoln, NE. Stan enjoyed fixing, repairing, and rewiring gadgets. Survivors include his son, Michael Parkhurst of Irvine, CA; grandson, Thomas Parkhurst of Fullerton, CA; nephews, Craig Parkhurst of Omaha, NE, Kent Parkhurst of Oceanside, CA, and Reggie Parkhurst of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Suzie; brother, Ray; sisters, Sue and Lucille. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Dan Heuer will officiate. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20. Memorials may be directed to the family." Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Nebraska.
