Father: Walter Lamar Stanton Mother: Alice Elizabeth Childress --------------------- Services for Alice Whisenant will be held in Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Gann Cemetery. Alice passed away at her residence. She was retired from Lufkin State School. She loved the Houston Astros and enjoyed playing dominoes. She had a strong faith in the Lord and had a persevering spirit. She was a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church. Survivors include her: - daughter, Brenda Carrell - son and daughter-in-law, James and Barbara Daniel - son-in-law, Stephen Currie - grandchildren, Holly Blalock and husband Jonathan, Chad Whisenant and wife Amanda, James Mettlen and wife Nora, Laura Stancomb and husband Scott, Brandi Carrell, David Carrell and wife Brittany, Joseph Carrell and wife Megan, Sarah Daniels, and James Daniels - 21 great-grandchildren - brother, Edward Stanton and wife JoNell In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whisenant was preceded in death by her: - husband, Richard Whisenant - daughter, Charlotte Currie - granddaughter, Elisha Frint - brother, Lewis Stanton EDITED - Published in The Lufkin Daily News on Oct. 26, 2015.
