Tom's Grandparent ----------------- Husband of Margaret (Peggy) Wildman, born 30 October, 1822 and died 6 November, 1852 in Alabama, married January 14, 1841 Blount County, AL. Son of Allen and Nancy (Cantrell) Wilson. Father-W. Alen Wilson John and Margaret's children: Elizabeth M. Wilson (died before 1850) Nancy Elizabeth Wilson Fendley James Alen Wilson William Russell 'Billy' Wilson Calborne 'Clabe' A. Wilson Thomas Jefferson Wilson -wife-Virginia Branum Lafayett 'Fayte' Wilson Peter Coger 'Pete' Wilson-wife-Anna Parker Eli Christian Wilson Silvester 'Vest' R. Wilson Joel Robert Wilson ------------------ On June 28, 1998, Tom Wilson went to the Wilson Cemetery with us. He said that years ago his father had shown him where John Wilson had been buried. He recognized the tombstone for us. It says J A W. John's name was John Alen Wilson. He was killed alongside the road by jayhawkers on January 20, 1864 and was buried by his wife. Legend has it that he was the first to be buried in Wilson Cemetery. John came to Searcy County in 1858 from Alabama through Tennessee. He was a member of the chaini gang and then a Private in Co. I, 18th Marmaduke's AR Inf., which was Confederate. His son William (Billy) served in the Union Army in Cassville, Missouri. ============================ Find A Grave contributor Wally sent---I think that Peter Coger Wilson was the son of John's 2nd wife, Elizabeth Childers.
