Funeral services will be held Saturday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel for Daniel Barnum, 85, of 2731 Hardy St., who died Thursday at Westwood Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. He was a retired engineer for the Kansas City Southern Railroad and had been chief engineer and secretary-treasurer of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He had lived in Shreveport 60 years and was a native of Villa Ridge, Ill. He was a member of the Calvary Pentecostals. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Danita Barnum Davis of Shreveport; a step-daughter, Mrs. E.B. Hamner of Bossier City, and a half-sister, Mrs. Anna Meecham of Bakersfield, Calif. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. H.L. Bennett, pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Dequincy, and the rev. B.E. Echols, pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Marshall, Tex. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grady A. Powell, Jack R. Kelly, Kenneth Linden, Wade Hampton, Henry P. Johnson, and Charles Harvey.
