Marie Davis, 74, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at a local nursing home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rosemound Cemetery. Marie was born in Leroy, Texas, to the late Ruben Gene and Dainy Gertrude Coley. She enjoyed sewing and listening to music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Davis, Jr.; sons, Jackie Lee Davis and Duwaine E. Davis; daughter, Brenda Charlene Woodard; brother, Herman Gene Merritt; and great-grandson, Johnny Wayne "J.J." Jackson, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Jackson and husband, Larry, of China Spring, and Bridgette Davis, of Waco; sons, Kenneth Davis and wife, Elaine, of Lorena, Joseph Lee Davis, of Bellmead, Loy Davis and wife, Tammy, of China Spring, Perry Davis and wife, Tracey, of Waco, and Michael Davis and wife, Jeanine, of Riesel; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and an extended family.
