Major League Baseball Player. For five seasons (1965 to 1967 and 1969 to 1970), he was a pitcher with the Houston Astros and Montreal Expos. Born Carroll William Sembera, he made his initial impact on the baseball diamond during his years at Shiner High School in Texas. He received a scholarship to attend Trinity University where he played collegiate baseball and in 1961, he was signed as an amateur free agent by the Houston Colt .45s. He made his Major League debut on September 28th, 1965 and pitched in 2 games that year. In 1967, he produced career-highs in games pitched with 45 and innings with 59. He had the distinction of being on the Montreal Expos during their inaugural year of 1969. In 99 career regular season games, he compiled a 3 win, 11 loss record with a 4.70 ERA, in 139 innings pitched. After retiring as a player, he served as a scout for MLB, in addition to the Seattle Mariners.
