OAK RIDGE, Tenn. Doretha Doris Savage Livesey, age 78, of Oak Ridge, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center. Doretha was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Leonard, Texas, to the late Elmo Edwin and Lilly Lee Jenkins Savage. She was a very active member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, working with the youth and the United Methodist Women. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing. Spending her time with her family -- especially her grandchildren -- is where she found her greatest joy. Other than her parents, Doretha is preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Savage and her sister, Barbara Benner. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob Livesey of Oak Ridge; two sons, David Livesey and his wife, Cathy of Culpeper, Va., and Doug Livesey and his wife Melissa of Oak Ridge; one brother, Ed Savage and his wife, Frieda, of Seguin, Texas; three sisters, Jean Fowler and her husband, Buck, of Belton, Texas, Lois Crossley of Wichita, Kan., and Wanda Willeford and her husband, James, of Weatherford, Texas, three grandchildren, Kristin Livesey, Nathan Livesey, and Hannah Livesey; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Kern Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 3 to 4 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial gifts be sent to the Kern Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund at 451 E. Tennessee Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
