The following obituary was published in Alva Grigsby The Times (Munster, Indiana) on Monday (05 Jun 1989) on Page D-6 in Column 1 GRIGSBY, ETHEL Grigsby. Ethel - age 84 of Bradford, New Hampshire - formerly of Hammond - passed away Thursday. June 1, 1989 at New London Hospital, New London, New Hampshire. Survivors: one daughter, Gerry Brown of Bradford, New Hampshire; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grand-children; two sisters, Goldie Hendricks and Delia Knowles both of Hammond; one brother, Theodore Dennis of Robinson, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel in Schererville with Rev. Denzil G. Mauk officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family. Mrs. Grigsby was a resident of this area for over 50 years; and a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Hammond. LaHayne Funeral Home, 5746 Hohman Ave., Hammond in charge of arrangements.
