Jimmy Gerald Ermis, born February 1, 1947, in Robstown, Texas, to George and Marjorie (Bowden) Ermis passed away October 7, 2015. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of the West Sinton area and was a graduate of Sinton High School and Texas A&I University. He was a successful farmer who loved to grow cotton and served as a member of the Board of Directors at EdCot Co-op Gin, Edroy Co-op Gin and the San Patricio County Co-op. He was a proud grandfather, an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl (Fromme) Ermis, son, Jeffrey (Dana) Ermis and their son Jackson of Midlothian, Texas, daughter, Amy Ermis of Fort Worth, Texas, sister Janet (Joe) Caddel of Corpus Christi, Texas, brother-in-law, Dr. Daniel Fromme (Dee) of Alexandria, Louisiana and niece, Kelly (Jesse) Kibbee of San Antonio, Texas. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Dietzel officiating. Interment will follow at Sinton Cemetery.
