Bio
Develon Lee Puckett, 44, of Ralston passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord, Nebraska with Father Josh Brown officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors and Fire and Rescue Honors will be presented at the gravesite. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Develon Lee was born October 24, 1970, at Grand Island, Nebraska. He lived most of his childhood in Grand Island and graduated from Kearney High School in 1989. Following graduation, Develon joined the United States Army and served in Desert Storm. After the Army, he moved to Lincoln and received his Fireman-Paramedic degree and training from Southeast Community College. Develon was employed with the Lincoln Fire and Rescue for the last 15 years and was a member of Station 7 Crew. He carried immense pride working for the LFR and it was there that he formed a deep brotherhood with his co-workers. Survivors include his mother, Sandra K. “Sandi” Ellis of Grand Island; a brother, Dorian Puckett of Savannah, Georgia; an aunt and uncle, Cheryl and Larry Larkowski of Ord; two cousins and their children, Karla and Jason Ritterbush, Jesse and Jade all of Ord, and Jaci and Cory Kruse, Jordyn and Jenna all of Kearney; his companion, Danielle Fletcher and his step-children, Alicyn and Brendan all of Ralston. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Raymond and Minnie Grabowski.
