BASSETT — Earl F. Kolar, 88, of Bassett died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at his home. A private family inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach, with Vicar Marcia Dorn officiating. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Kolar was born June 16, 1927, in Howard County, south of Wolbach, to Frank and Eva (Rasmussen) Kolar. Earl attended District 23 country school. After his schooling, he farmed with his father on the family farm. He then traveled around the country working in various jobs. He returned to Wolbach and was united in marriage to Imogene M. Trosper on Dec. 24, 1949, in St. Paul. Three children were born to this union — Danny Joe, Jean Marie and Jeri Lou. The couple farmed south of Wolbach until 1969, when he purchased a shoe, boot and saddle repair shop and opened it in Wolbach, which he operated for 20 years. They moved to California in 1987. They lived there for nine years before moving back to Lincoln. The couple also lived in Geneva and O’Neill before moving to Bassett, where they have lived since. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. Survivors include his wife, Imogene of Bassett; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Jean Kolar of Lincoln; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean James of Bassett and Jeri and Steven Pedersen of North Platte; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glen Kolar of Wolbach. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Joseph F. Pedersen; and five brothers, Leon, Roy, Jim, Guy and Kenneth Kolar.
