The birth year on marker is in error ---------------------------------------------- Former Ord Resident Dies at Lincoln Edgar P. Barnes, 66, of Lincoln, died Saturday, November 9, 1985, in Lincoln. Graveside services were held Wednesday, at 10 am at the Ord City Cemetery with Military rites by the Ord American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The Rev. Jay Funk officiated. The Ord Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Edgar was born November 28, 1918 in Ord to Chester and Tillie Hollingshead Barnes. He was raised and received his education in Ord. He had been living in Lincoln for a number of years, and had been a truck driver for several years prior to his retirement in 1980. Survivors include one brother, Harold Barnes of Omaha; two sons, Randy Barnes and Bill Jolly, and two daughters, Carol Leiker and Judy Clement, all of Kansas City; and a number of grandchildren.
