Bio

Alvarado -- Corbin Griffin Lee Barge, 81, of Alvarado, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006, in Fort Worth. Memorial services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Seth Stacy officiating. Mr. Barge was born in Groesbeck, Texas on March 7, 1925 and grew up in Mexia, Texas. He joined the Army during World War II and also served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a resident of Alvarado since 1966. He was a long time employee of LTV Aerospace and Defense where he retired after 39 years of service. Corbin enjoyed many fishing trips to the Brazos River and various lakes with his children. Working on his automobiles was one of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed watching and listening to the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He believed in providing for his family and instilled family values such as honesty and standing up for your rights. He is survived by his children of whom he was very proud, David Barge of Houston, Daniel Barge of Granbury, Deborah Terronez of Rio Vista and Diane Peppers of Keller; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home handled the arrangements. 817-783-3062.
