Bio

Clark Vern Kelly passed away Sept. 17th surrounded by family in Billings, Mont. Clark was born Feb. 19, 1944 to Harley and Betty (Vance) Kelly in Torrington. He grew up on the family farm where he enjoyed raising farm animals. He attended school in Veteran where he graduated in 1962. In searching for what he wanted to do with his life, he attended Eastern Wyoming College and had several jobs that included Jackson Lake Lodge that started his enjoyment of the Jackson area. He went to work for Union Pacific Railroad that took him to Cheyenne and then to Rawlins. This part of Wyoming gave him the opportunity to do the hunting and fishing which he so enjoyed. In 1968, he married Susan Stienmetz. They had a daughter, Teresa Sue, and son, Cody Clark. They later divorced. In 1974, Clark and family moved back to Goshen County to farm, but his heart was more into ranching. So when the farming did not work out, he moved to the western part of Wyoming, first to Cody and then he went back to Jackson Hole, where he worked for Teton County Parks and Recreation for 25 years and continued to hunt and fish. Clark is survived by his mother, Betty Kelly of Torrington; children, Teresa (James) Kelly and Cody (Cassandra) Kelly; grandchildren, Alec Meacham and Cyleigh Kelly, all of Billings, Mont. Clark was preceded in death by his father, Harley Kelly and brother, Floyd Kelly. © Torrington Telegram September 24, 2015
