Bio

Bettie Virginia Miller Cornelison, 85, of Flintstone, passed away Monday September 21, 2015. Bettie was a native of Armuchee, GA and moved to Flintstone, GA when she married in 1949 and lived there the rest of her life. She graduated from Armuchee High School in Rome, GA and was a homemaker and seamstress. Bettie was a member of Flintstone Baptist Church and faithful in her Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends. Bettie worked at the CV Voting Precinct for many years. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maude Fulton Miller; her loving husband of 48 years, Leon Cornelison; sisters, Mary Sue Miller and Laura Elaine Richardson. Survivors include her daughter, Vivian (Richard) Holmes; son, Gregory (Kim) Cornelison; grandchildren, Clayton Holmes, Warren (Kristal) Holmes, Jessica (Justin) Cantrell and Savanna (Dallas) Harris; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Tatum Cantrell and Lyla and Haven Holmes. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday with Rev. Brent Smith officiating at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flintstone Baptist Church, 121 Mountain View Circle, Flintstone, GA 30725 or the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends 4-8 PM Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
