Gilmer -- Graveside services for Jerry A. Lawson, 72, of Gilmer, will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015, at 11:30 A.M. at Mattox Cemetery with Brother James Young officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Born on August 10, 1943 in Gilmer, Texas, to Christine Jones Lawson and Delmo Lawson, he died on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. He was a retired employee of LeTourneau in Longview and a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Edith Edwards Lawson; son, Anthony Lawson and his wife, Jenifer; step-daughter, Deborah Calderon; step-sons, John R. Daily Jr.; and Charles Daily and wife, Layla; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosa Lee Nicholson and husband, Chuck; Arlene Murrell and husband, Randale; and Hazel Pierce; and one brother, Randall Lawson. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Nora Edwards; two brothers-in-law, Charlie Edwards and wife, Pat, and Alfred 'Sonny Boy' Edwards; and many loved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
