Bio
Funeral services for Mrs. Stella James will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 in the Marlow Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with the Revs. Joey Rudisill, Hardy Estes, and Jeff James officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home and then from 3 p.m. Friday till service time on Saturday at the church. Mrs. James, 99, of the Cravens Community died on Monday, June 23, 2008 at her daughter's residence in Slagle. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of the Leesville/Cravens area. She was active member of the Marlow Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by husband, Walter James, and son, Bobby Gean James. Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Pam James of Baton Rouge; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Joe Lynn Bolton of Slagle, Margie Dean and Bill Hardy of Leesville, Gaynell and Dick Johnston of Mesa, Arizona, Sue "Diddie" Obanion and Wess of Roseville, California; twenty three grandchildren; fifty one great -grandchildren; seventeen great- great grandchildren.
