Mike Cates Born: May 26, 1951 Died: August 24, 2015 Mike Cates, 64, died Monday, August 24, 2015 in Grapevine, TX. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Dalhart Memorial Park Cemetery. Michael Keith Cates was born May 26, 1951 in Dalhart, TX to Tucker Jack Cates and Alice Inez (Scarborough) Cates. Mike was raised in Dalhart and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He loved to sing, make friends, and help folks by mowing lawns. Mike made the most of life despite his handicaps. Mike is survived by his wife sister LaFon White of Yantis, TX, his niece Jackie and her husband Walter Dorman of Yantis, TX, a nephew Brad Hammit and his wife Sherry of Ivanhoe, TX. Great Nieces: Destiny Dorman, Nikki Pipes, and Kelly Snodgrass and great nephews: Drex Dorman, Caleb Dorman and Barton Hammit. He is preceded in death by his parents.
