CHILDRESS - Vera M. Knight, 80, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Neil Unwin officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Miss Knight was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Memphis to R.H. and Thelma Knight. She was the head secretary for the engineering department at Honeywell Corp. for 35 years. Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Wyatt of Childress and Melba Patterson of Conroe.
